FAQs - Learn more about the lashes
How should the lashes be cleaned?
Remove the banded or segmented lashes from your eyelids. To clean them, use a drop of bond remover (sold in lash kits or separately on this site) to loosen and remove the sealant and the bond off of the false lashes. Use a piece of paper towel to gently remove the residue of bond and remover. Do this only when they're off your eye and face. Make sure you gently rub and dab the lashes to clean them because they are delicate. They are supposed to be cleaned as gently but firmly as you would clean a contact lense.
Make a cleaning solution of a drop of soap mixed into a small cup of clean water. Use gentle cleansing soap that you would normally use on your face. This will remove the remover's oil from the lashes. Insert the lash extensions in the soapy water for a minute or two and brush your fingertips over the lashes gently. Take them out of the soapy water and rinse the cup out and refill with clean water. Insert the lashes again and rinse by brushing them gently with clean fingertips. Gently dry the lashes by dabbing them with a clean, dry towel or fabric. Put the lashes into a clean lash-storage container or compact because they are now ready to be used again. The container should be open for a few minutes until the lashes dry off. Clear or metal lash storage containers are found for sale in the Accessories Collections on this site, or store the lashes in the lash-compact.
First time wearing your new banded lashes?
Put some bend into the band of banded lashes before you wear them so they want to hug the contour of your eyelid instead of remaining straight and pulling up off the lid. For banded lashes, add more bond at the ends of the lash to keep it held down.
Clear or black bond?
Bands, bonds, and liners all come in clear or black options.
You can choose black or clear for the bond or adhesive liner pen.
Some lashes come with clear bands and some have solid black bands. The black bands give a more dramatic look and the clear looks more natural.
It is a safe guideline to say that if your banded lash has a clear band, go with clear liner.
Choose black liner for a black banded lash.
Clear or black bond? Get both. Black makes it looks a little darker like mascara, and clear may make it look more natural. A clear bond is safer to use if you bring your lash kit out to do your lashes when you're pressed for time because it your wand slips, you won't notice the clear as much and will not have to take off your eye makeup to remove a small smudge of bond.
If you have light hair, it may look more natural to use the clear bond for you segmented lashes, and a small amount of mascara on just the tip of your natural lashes as an option.
Does the banded lash fit?
Customize your new banded false lash by holding it up to your eyelid. Put the inner corner 0.75 cm from the inside corner of the lid. Trim off the outside end. The inside end has special, tapered lashes.
Wait at least 5 seconds to apply the lash to the lid once bond is applied to banded or segmented lashes.
If there is a poking feeling on inside or outside corner of your eyelid, adjust the lash by re-applying it, so that it fits comfortably.
If your eye is watering or oily, before you apply the lash strip, dry it and make sure the bonding surfaces are clean. Keep lash glue in your purse when you go out, the corners of banded (strip) lashes tend to lift, no matter what the brand or bond. Add extra bond at the ends of the strip lash to keep it down and be sure to apply to clean skin.
We do not recommend that you sleep in the lashes, but they are comfortable enough that they would not keep you awake. You may not be able to prevent yourself from rubbing your eyes in your sleep, so it's best to use a sleep mask and to remove lash strips and segments to sleep.
When can the lashes be curled?
Curl your natural lashes slightly near the ends of your natural lashes before applying segmented lashes under the lash.
Curl your natural lashes along with the false lashes after applying the false lashes if applying lashes above your natural lashes.
If using mascara on the tips of your natural lashes, do this before applying segmented or banded lashes, and let the mascara dry first. Mascara gives a more blended look when using false lashes for those people with naturally light hair.
Can mascara be used?
Apply mascara to just the tip of your bare lashes before applying banded or segmented lashes. Let the mascara dry before applying the segmented or banded lashes. The bond for segmented lashes should be in contact with your natural lashes, not mascara, hence applying mascara only to the outer tip of your natural lashes. If you have natural lashes that are very, short, then dab the mascara wand only on the last millimeter of your lash tips.
It is best not to use mascara on the false lashes.
Mascara gives a more blended look when using false lashes for those people with naturally light hair.
What lashes are best for hooded eyes?
A softer curl, like a C curl will feel better when worn on a hooded eyelid. D and DD curls curl back into the skin instead of curling back toward the crease or indent. These eyes look better with a less dramatic or shorter lash extension.
